About the Photographer and his Works

Andrew is a British photographic artist whose work explores the interplay between mood, memory, and place. Rooted in the landscapes and cityscapes of Northern Italy, his images capture fleeting moments — rain-slicked alleys, misted glass, still waters, and passing figures — each imbued with a quiet sense of narrative.

Often described as possessing a “cinematic stillness,” Andrew’s photographs seem to pause time, inviting viewers into a scene just before or after something unspoken. Working in both colour and black and white, he blends fine detail with soft abstraction, allowing light, weather, and architecture to act as emotional triggers.

His work aligns with sought-after categories — emotive landscapes, urban minimalism, and conceptual street photography — yet stands apart for its painterly composition, atmospheric subtlety, and deep Italian specificity, capturing the character and quiet beauty of Italy’s landscapes, towns, and people.

Prints & Materials

All artworks are produced using the giclée printing process — the gold standard for fine art reproduction. This method uses archival pigment inks and state-of-the-art printers to deliver exceptional tonal depth, fine detail, and museum-grade longevity.

Collectors may choose between two carefully selected papers:

  • Epson Semi-Gloss (260gsm) – a bright-white, resin-coated paper that balances photographic sharpness with painterly qualities. Its semi-gloss finish enhances colour vibrancy, contrast, and depth while remaining durable and versatile.

  • Hahnemühle Photo Rag (308gsm) – a 100% cotton rag paper with a super-matte surface. This premium option emphasises delicate gradients, soft tonal transitions, and a velvety texture that lends artworks a distinctive fine art finish.

All works advertised are printed at a standard 300 dpi, ensuring clarity and professional quality across editions, with many pieces produced at sizes up to 1500 mm wide. Special sizes not listed are available from 240 dpi, designed for viewing from a natural distance of 600mm - 1000mm — maintaining visual impact even at mural-like dimensions.

Open Editions

For collectors seeking a more affordable alternative to limited editions, Andrew also offers a selection of open edition prints. These works are produced with the same giclée printing process, archival pigment inks, and choice of museum-grade papers, but unlike limited editions, they are not restricted in number. This makes open editions an accessible way to collect fine art photography, allowing more people to enjoy Andrew’s vision of Italian landscapes, cityscapes, and street scenes in their homes.

Open editions are available in smaller formats (typically up to 600mm x 600mm) and are priced to suit a wider range of collectors — ideal for those who want to bring a touch of Italy’s quiet beauty into their everyday space without the exclusivity or cost of a larger limited edition.

Limited Editions

Large-format prints (typically 800 × 600 mm and above) are released as limited editions of 25 worldwide or less. Each print is hand-numbered and accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity, ensuring its place as part of a rare and collectible series.

Once an edition is sold out, no further prints will ever be produced at that size, protecting both the exclusivity and long-term value of each artwork.

Custom Editions

While ImageItalia offers a curated range of Open Editions and Limited Editions, some collectors and design clients seek a more tailored approach. To meet these needs, selected works are available as Custom Editions — bespoke adaptations crafted to suit specific interiors, projects, and collector preferences.

📐 Custom Sizes

Art doesn’t always need to fit within standard dimensions. Many works can be produced in custom sizes beyond our listed formats, scaled up or down to complement your space. From intimate study pieces to large-scale statement works and wall art, custom sizing ensures the artwork integrates seamlessly with your environment.

✂️ Cropped Compositions

Certain images can be re-composed through bespoke cropping, highlighting specific architectural details, landscapes, or atmospheric elements. This option allows collectors and designers to align the artwork precisely with their vision, while preserving the integrity and quality of the image.

Black & White Conversions

In some cases, images originally captured in colour can be offered in monochrome. A black and white treatment brings a new tonal quality, emphasising structure, light, and atmosphere in a way that complements minimal or design-forward interiors.

Exclusive Image Rights

For collectors seeking the highest level of exclusivity, Andrew offers the option to purchase the full rights to a chosen image.

When an image is acquired under this arrangement, it is permanently withdrawn from the ImageItalia collection — ensuring that no further prints or editions will ever be produced.

Each exclusive acquisition includes:

  • A legal contract of exclusivity, transferring reproduction rights for the image to the collector.

  • A signed certificate of withdrawal, confirming the work’s retirement from the catalogue.

  • The option to receive the final artist’s proof print, uniquely marked to signify its status.

This option represents the highest level of collect-ability and prestige, reserved for collectors who wish to own an image in its entirety.
